Make some art at ArtSpring Festival! Activities listed below will be held at ArtSpring Festival Davis Center at the Davis Fire Hall, right next to the Davis Stage and the Handmade Art Market. Some activities will accept donations. Here's the lineup of what kids (and kids at heart) can create throughout the weekend:

Typewriter Project--add a line of poetry to the wall of words

History Walk -- Meet at the Buxton and Landstreet Building in Thomas - 10am Saturday - rain or shine
Historian Chuck Nichols will lead a walk centered on the coal, coke, and rail history of the Coketon area in Thomas. Visit the new historical signage along this walk - maps are available at the information booth and Buxton & Landstreet. Sponsored by Friends of the Blackwater
Lady Slippers and Waterfalls: Photography Hike -- led by Vernon Patterson. Sunday morning, meet at 9am at Blackwater Falls Lodge Lobby. Shoot photos at Elakala Falls and the Lindy Point Trail. Hiking boots or sturdy shoes and a hiking pole for stability are suggested.
Lantern Parade -- Cottrill’s Opera House. Gather at 7:30 pm, Parade departs at 8:30 pm
Fun With Your Camera: A Photo Walk with Ken McCoy -- Saturday 1pm, meet at the ArtSpring information booth in Davis for a photo walk.
One Word Story -- Mountain Laurel Learning Collective - Sunday, 4pm at Art Market Stage. Jane Browning leads MLLC youth in an improvised story performance.
Plein Aire Painters -- find painters at large throughout Tucker County all weekend
Rock Painting and Crafts-- Friday - Sunday at Canaan Valley Resort Recreation Center. More information and additional family-friendly activities can be found at canaanresort.com
Strolling Poet -- Saturday and Sunday in Davis. Be on the lookout for the 19th century poet Emily Dickinson (portrayed by local actress Lindsey Hull). Sponsored by The Studio Gallery.
