Poetry Reading at The Billy Motel & Bar

  • The BIlly Motel 1080 William Avenue Davis, WV, 26260 United States (map)

Please join ArtSpring at The Billy Motel & Bar on Monday, October 14th for an evening of poetry featuring JP Castells & Tyler Elliot (a.k.a. E.T. Jamesyn).

JP Castells, from Eglon, WV, is a poet whose path has brought him from suburban Washington, DC as a young child to growing up in rural Preston County. His poetry explores many themes, but some of the most recent are impermanence, Affrilachain origins, and coming of age reflections, among others. He is a 2016 graduate of Tucker County High School, a recipiant of a 2018 Summer Arts Poet-in-Residence fellowship in Nova Scotia, Canada, and currently is a senior majoring in English at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.

Lifelong Tucker County resident Tyler Elliott, who also goes by the pseudonym E.T. Jamesyn, casually combines small town simplicity with a universally pertinent array of material. The result is a large body of work, including his 2015 self published initial collection titled "Learning To Share", which is easily digestible as well as pleasant to almost any palate. The volume will be available for purchase at the reading.

Admission: Free, but donations are gratefully accepted and will be given to the Poets. Cocktails will be available at the bar: Cash and credit cards accepted.
